How we verify clinics
In the UK, both healthcare professionals and trained non-medics can carry out many aesthetic treatments. So before a clinic appears on Vair, we check who is treating you and what they are registered or qualified to do. No clinic can pay to be listed or to rank higher.
What we check
Every practitioner shown on a clinic page meets one of these, and we display which one on their entry so you can judge for yourself.
On a UK statutory register
Doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and other registered professionals
We confirm the practitioner holds a current entry on a UK statutory register: the GMC, NMC, GDC, GPhC or HCPC. An independent regulator holds them to professional standards and can act on complaints. This is the strongest signal of accountability.
JCCP registered
Practitioners on the accredited register for aesthetics
The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners runs a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. We confirm the entry is current. It shows training and accountability beyond a one-off qualification.
Qualified and insured
Trained non-medics offering lower-risk treatments
We confirm a recognised qualification for the treatment and current indemnity insurance. Insurance is required, not optional. This is the floor for a Vair listing, and we show you exactly what we checked.
Prescription-only treatments
Some treatments use prescription-only medicines. Anti-wrinkle injections are the common example. These can only be prescribed by a registered prescriber after a face-to-face assessment. Where a clinic offers them, we require a verified prescriber, even if someone else administers the treatment.
What verification is not
We confirm registration, accreditation or qualification, and insurance. We do not rate clinical outcomes or endorse individual results. Verification tells you a clinic meets a clear standard and is accountable. The choice is still yours, made with open eyes.
Every clinic on Vair is checked before its page goes live. No clinic can pay for placement.
